Outdoor Brand Spec Shoot
Once I would love to be shooting for a cool outdoor brand like Patagonia and the alikes. So until I get to that level, I thought I could do a little practice. I called my friend, told her my idea and she didn’t need much convincing before she was in. I told her to put on her coolest hiking fit, and we were on our way to the beautiful mountains surrounding Salzburg. Not gonna lie, I did do some research, where we could have the views and surroundings that fit my vision. I definitely wanted some pine forest, but also some nice open fields with a mountain backdrop.
We spent some good hours hiking and stopping here and there for shooting. I don’t work with models often, I’m more used to having to be in the right place at the right moment to capture the moments. But I do really enjoy working with people and having to direct, pose and convey my vision while still keeping it light and fun. Making someone comfortable in front of the camera is a challenge, but that’s why it’s cool to do some practice with friends who will just laugh with you if you feel like you have no idea what you’re doing..
I also wanted to experiment with more dynamic action shots of the shoes and I found the prefect spot for it on this tiny trail in the pine forest, with the low sunlight peeking through the trees. It would’ve been even cooler if I had a flash with me. Next time..
Time flew, doing this, I but that’s what I like so much about random projects like these. Being in a full creative flow state for hours, forgetting about everything else, moving our bodies, having fun conversations, all these surrounded by the beautiful mountains surrounding Salzburg. Yeah, I think I wouldn’t say to a job that looks like this.
